*23 Weeks Pregnant Belly

December 18, 2007

23 weeks and 3 days belly.

Tummy still feels good. Getting lots of strong kicks. Ankles are getting a bit swollen by the end of the hot days though and that's not so comfy.

*ssshhhh... baby sleeping.....

December 13 2007

Last night Dean came to bed about 11:30pm.

I was whispering to him 'get into bed gently.. dont talk loud'

He thinks I am going nuts. But about 15 minutes earlier I had shouted out to him 'when are you coming to bed?'

and little miss Jolley started kicking the house down.. so she obviously hears things now and I didn't want Dean to wake her up again!

and then she woke me at 4am so I am a bit tired today with only 4 1/2 hrs sleep. Little Ratbag!!!

*22 Weeks Pregnant Belly

December 11, 2007

22 weeks pregnant belly.

Little miss is settling into a routine now.

It goes something like this...
8am Wake up
12pm - 1pm Ballet
3pm - 5pm Gymnastics
8pm - 11:30pm Kickboxing (yeeeoooouch!!)

It is starting to get harder to get to sleep. She goes a little crazy at night time! But is also quite nice knowing she is all ok and getting stronger.

Dean can feel her moving a lot of the time now and 'little Nana' has felt a kick too.
I also have a big lump under my right rib. I know she isn't that big yet so I'm guessing its something she has squished up there out of her way. My kidney maybe??

*Up Close... what a cutie-pie

December 1 2007

Here is a close up of her face.
(20 week scan)

Who do you think she looks like?

*20 Weeks Pregnant... and it's a ...

December 1 2007

The sonographer said he is 99% sure its a Girl!

Here is a scan picture of her doing a rollover.

(her head is at the bottom of picture, body curling up to the right with her leg pointing to the left... and her knee is over her face)

Very CUTE!! So a little Miss Jolley is on her way.

The scan went really well and baby has everything she is supposed to.

It was such an exciting event!! Little Miss was moving her little arms and legs around...we saw all her fingers and toes. She was pretty well behaved but everytime the sonographer set the machine up to look at her heart the little monkey rolled over! and he kept saying...'ok, we'll go back to that'

Nana and Poppy Jolley looked like they enjoyed it too.

*20 Weeks Pregnant Belly

20 weeks pregnant belly shot.

Halfway there...
Probably the easy half!
Next time I am doing this during winter, it's already soooo hot and Summer hasn't even started yet.

We are getting very excited about meeting our little itty bitty baby Jolley!
I have been feeling flutters for about a week now (the placenta is at the front so it has been acting like a big spongy cushion)

On Wednesday night Dean felt his first 3 kicks from Baby... that was awesome! I am so glad he gets to join in. (shame he can't go to the bathroom six times a night for me)

Next Tuesday we are travelling to Christchurch for our anatomy scan. The hospital there gives you pictures and a dvd to take home.
We might get to see whether its a little boy or girl!

So far most people are saying it's a girl... hmmm
comments so far to back this up...
'You're carrying high'
'It's all gone to your bum'
'I went off meat with my daughter too'
(love the fat bum one!! THANKS MUM!!)

ohhh... I can hardly wait!
Nana Jolley and Poppy Jolley are coming with us too.

So Baby, you better behave with everyone watching!!

*12 week scan

12 week scan of baby Jolley.

Can you see its cute button nose?
I think it looks like Dean.
(the head is to the left, looking upwards)

We are calling it 'BOB' for now.. as it is just 'bobbing' around in there.

*12 Weeks Pregnant Belly

September 29, 2007

12 weeks! Pheeeeuuuwwww......
finally made it to the 'safe zone' and Dean can relax a little bit.

Morning sickness hasn't been too bad. Mainly feeling like being sick everyday but not actually doing it so I guess I consider myself quite lucky.

I have been really tired though. I need to have a nap every afternoon for a couple of hours and am asleep in bed by about 7.30pm

This has been the only time I have managed to sleep through entire nights without Deans restless legs keeping me awake. That goes to show how completely exhausted I am!

I can't eat any meat or even stand the smell of it cooking! So everynight I have baked potatoes and Dean (poor lad) has to cook his own tea!
My sense of smell is superhuman right now. I can smell Deans socks from the end of the driveway, and his aftershave makes me gag... he can't win really.

My bump is still very little at this stage, although I can definately tell there is 'something' there. We had our 12 week scan and all it's measurements are good. It is about 64mm (from head to bottom)

My main cravings so far have been hot chips with vinegar, and toast with avocado and peanut butter on it (yes, in the same sandwich)

*The look of Pure JOY

... or is it TERROR??

(ha ha)

The happy Daddy and Mummy to be!

(with the 'actual' positive test and the green rubber ducky)

*Pregnant at Last !!

August 7, 2007
(click on photos if you want to see them bigger)
After unsuccessfully trying to have a baby for about a year we discovered I had Polycystic Ovaries. This was found after Dean rushed me in to hospital in agony and a scan showed a golfball sized cyst had burst on my left ovary... the right ovary also had a large cyst on it. SO, off to the specialist we went and I was put on a hormone drug called clomiphene.
(update approx 6 weeks later)
At 3am this morning I needed a wee...
and I am lying in bed thinking over my dilemma... Is this 1st morning wee? (instructions on the box asked for this) cos I don’t know if I can wee again in 4hrs and I'm pretty sure I can't hold it till then... so I took 2 pregnancy tests in to the bathroom.

The Quik stream was still thinking about it at the 5 min mark, (even then it was still the faintest pink line you would think you were imagining it) but the Clear blue... 30 seconds! BIG FAT POSITIVE Yaaaaaaay!!!!

** and here’s how I broke the news to Dean...I bought a box and put things in it (see photo) and then hid it in the fridge. He got home from work and sat at the kitchen table for our daily chat and I asked him if he would like a drink. (which I do everyday) and he says 'yes please! rum and coke'.. usually I laugh at him and hand him apple juice, as he gets a bit hyperactive from the coke and kicks me all night so I only let him drink it on weekends. But today I gave him a rum and coke and said that’s for being so lovely while I have been sick with my cold... (he has been doing everything at home)

(I hope you didn’t want the short version.... ooops sorry)
so then I say 'I made you something else too'.. and gave him the box. He opens it and in typical male style moves the card out the way to see the goodies... Haha.... it took a few seconds for him to figure out why I had given him a rubber ducky... then he looks at me with wide eyes and says 'whats all this?' and I say 'read the card durrrhhh'

card says...

'GUESS' (on front) Who is gonna be a DADDY?? (inside) and he starts getting all teary and says 'are you pregnant?? when? yay!.. woohoo!!' and couldn’t stop giving me big hugs.. and running around saying ..'who can I call?.. who can I call? I need to tell someone!'
(such a sweetheart my darling hubby)
you may not be able to see the 'SUPERDAD' frame, but in it is a little grain of rice and it also says ' Baby Jolley 07/08/07 ' (that is the size it is at 4 1/2 weeks)

(...he called his big brother Shane)
